Edakkal Caves - The two caves are located at a height of 1000 m on Ambukutty Mala near Ambalavayal. Morning hours are the best time to visit the caves. Entry is permitted only upto 5:00 pm.

Wayanad

Wayanad provides the ideal climatic conditions for Kerala's extensive plantations of Cardamom, pepper, coffee and rubber. Lakkidi, the gateway of Wayanad is an excellent tourist attractive place. It is having a very large tribal population in Kerala. The major south Indian destinations like Ooty, Mysore, Coorg and Nilgiris are nearby.

Kalpetta: This place is Headquarter of Wayanad District.

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary - 16 kms away from Sultan’s Bathery the wild life sanctuary was established in 1973 and is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

PazhassiTomb: Memorial of the Lion of Kerala – Veera Pazhassi Raja, who organized the guerilla pattern of water fare against the British East India Company, is also at Wayanad.

Sultan’s Bathery: Tipu Sultan's Fort is 10 kms away from Kalpetta.

Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary: This sanctuary in Karnataka state is ideal for visit. The park houses diverse species of plant and animal life. Visiting hours are 6 am to 8 am and 3 pm to 5.30 pm.

Tusharagiri: Tusharagiri is famous for its trekking tracks. Trekkers start early morning from the second waterfall and climb uphill through the pristine, dense evergreen forests populated with exotic birds and wildlife to reach Vythiri by evening.

PookotLake: This perennial fresh water lake, nestled among wooded hills, is the only one of its kind in Kerala. Boating facilities, a children's park, a handicrafts and spices emporium and a fresh water aquarium are among the tourist facilities available here.

Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary :It is second largest wild life sanctuary in the Kerala, 15 kms from Sultan Battery. Contiguous with the Protected area network of Nagerhole National Park and Bandipur. Muthanga Sanctuary is rich in fauna and flora. Best season to visit is June to October.

MAHE: This place is Union Territory of Puducherry and is Situated on the Mayyazhi river, his former French enclave is named after the French admiral, Mahe de La Bourdonnais, who landed here in November 1741. A French colony until 1954, Mahe’s main church, the whitewashed Baroque St. Theresa’s Church etc are other major attractions..
